A couple of artists build their own island in Canada

Freedom Cove

This Canadian couple built this little piece of paradise with their hands and have been living there for 26 years.

An island in Canada: Catherine King and Wayne Adams are two artists who decided one day to leave, or rather to flee the city. They dreamed of a house in a wilderness where they could practice their art, grow their own fruits and vegetables and live in harmony with their environment.

Their revenues being as modest as they were random, they quickly realized that the house of their dream was out of reach. They did not give up and so decided to do in another way. They left in an uninhabited forest area near Vancouver, a 25-minute boat ride from the nearest town, and began building their future home sweet home.

It is therefore through hard work, determination and tenacity that a few years later they finally realized their dream. And rather to be limited to a simple house, it’s finally an island they built!

There is their main house, 4 greenhouses, a lighthouse and even a dance floor. The whole is nicely decorated, with shimmering colors and greenery everywhere.

For their meals, Catherine grows all they need in their greenhouses and their garden and Wayne, as a wise fisherman, takes care of the animal proteins. Fishing is not a problem even in bad weather as Wayne has a hatch in the house that allows him to catch fish from his sofa.

In short, they have built a dream life that will leave some of us thoughtful…
