Michael Paul Smith is what you might call a passionate person, but after having glanced at the work he has accomplished during the last decade, the word that would describe him the most would be “artist”. This uncommon character, who has always held a collection of miniature vehicles which date back from 1920 to 1960, has come up with the brilliant idea of crafting backgrounds made out of paper coated with resin, polystyrene or other materials in order to make his precious cars shine. The photographer shows an impressive attention to details: the lighting, framing, perspectives and relevance to the background are amazing. This gives the perfect illusion that these images have been taken out of some kind of american photo archives. Welcome to Elgin Park!
